Custom Bag Sample Cost & Pricing | ProtoBag

What a custom bag sample fee covers, why AI-only concepts often need a structure sample, and why reliable unit pricing follows sample confirmation.

What a custom bag sample fee covers

A custom bag sample fee pays for development work, not only one finished object. It can cover pattern preparation, cutting, sewing, sample-room setup, project communication and review of the first physical result. The exact scope depends on the bag, its construction and the information supplied. A sample price is different from the later unit price. Batch pricing becomes more reliable after a physical sample confirms construction, dimensions, materials, hardware, finish and order quantity.

When an AI concept needs a structure sample

If a project begins with an AI rendering and no physical reference, ProtoBag usually recommends treating the first version as a structure sample. AI images communicate style, but often leave proportions, openings, internal space, seams and load-bearing details unresolved. A structure sample tests size, volume, access, compartments, strap position and basic construction. The first physical version cannot be guaranteed to match an AI image exactly. Practical changes are normally required, and factory-specific feedback follows confirmation of the paid sampling scope.

Information for a more accurate sample

Send the intended use, approximate dimensions, expected load, required compartments, opening method, estimated quantity and the clearest references available. A tech pack helps, but dimensioned photos, sketches or an existing bag can also support an initial review.
